Technical Prerequisites

Stand-alone

In this case, VISUAL PLANNING is installed on individual’s PCs. If various PCs with VISUAL PLANNING are linked via a LAN, they can all work together on the same planner (it is obviously not the case if they are not linked to each other).

This option can be a way to set up a VISUAL PLANNING network for up to 4-5 PCs.

The planner can be shared on a non-dedicated PC/Server.

Recommended Configuration Database: MS Access(*), My SQL(*), SQL Server 7 and sup, Oracle 8i or + Workstation: PIV 2Ghz, 1024Mo RAM, Windows XP sp2, 2003 or Vista IE6 Firefox2 or + (*) Included in the package VISUAL PLANNING. If you're running Windows XP, 2003 or Vista, you must have Administrator authority for any installation.

 

Server

In this case Visual Planning is likely to share planners between users, whatever is their geographical location : same site, remote sites, intranet,…

This version uses the local networks, the web mode, including on Terminal Server configurations.

The users rights module, built-in Visual Planning, allows to limit user’s rights on planner’s use : allow or prohibit to view certain data, to create, modify, parameter…
