VISUAL PLANNING 5.3 DOCUMENTATION

Workloads

DEFINITION

The Worload allows to compute period by period, for a set of resources and criteria, some events numerical values

Datas which can be compared are the followings:

  • the load which represents the quantity of work required
  • the objective that represents the resources availability or capacity to do this work:

The relationship between load and capacity on a Workload may be represented by colors. This color can change depending on the value taken over time.

This last notion can be seen as control column thresholds.

PARAMETRAGE

Create a Workload

To create a Workload:

  • In the panel Global Settings > Right click on Worload > Create Workload > dimension.

The, the lower part is activated

It is necessary to precise the characteristics, the click on the OK button.

This setting is also accessible by an other entry point (c.f Global Settings).

The charactéristics of a Workload are the followings:

Name

This is the Workloads name.

Description

This is the Workload optional description

History

This is the last modification date/hour of the hourly pattern and the user login who made it.

This property is automatically updated.

Calculation type

The type of calculation for all the resources filtered, on the set of events corresponding to the filter is chosen from the following list:

Number of events

The calculation is done by counting the value 1 for each event.

Events duration (in Hours)

It is the conversion 1) in hours duration of all the events where the calculation is done.

On this case, it is necessary to set the kind of Period type. (cf. : Period Type).

Events duration (in Days)

It is the conversion 2) in days duration of all the events where the calculation is done.

On this case, it is necessary to set the kind of Period type. (cf. : Period Type).

Occupation duration (in Hours)

This is the resource's occupation period converted to hours. This duration is calculated by the recovery or non recovery of free periods and may not exceed the sum of these.

Occupation duration (in Days)

This is the resource's occupation period converted to days. This duration is calculated by the recovery or non recovery of free periods and may not exceed the sum of these.

Free period duration (in Hours)

It is the conversion 3) in hours duration of the event's duration free period filtered.

On this case, it is necessary to set the kind of Period type. (cf. : Period Type).

Free period duration (in Days)

It is the conversion 4) in days duration of the event's duration free period filtered.

On this case, it is necessary to set the kind of Period type. (cf. : Period Type).

Load in Hours

It is the sum of the loads in hours of the events belonging to the event filter.

On this case, it is necessary to set the kind of Period type. (cf. : Period Type).

Load in Days

It is the sum of the loads in days of the events belonging to the event filter.

On this case, it is necessary to set the kind of Period type. (cf. : Period Type).

Free load (in Hours)

This is the difference between the calendar time in hours and the event's load involved.

Free load (in Days)

This is the difference between the calendar time in days and the event's load involved.

Valuation items

It is the sum of the valuation items selected. It is necessary to set:

  • The valuation item(s) selected
  • The unit of the valuation item(s)

c.f. Valuation item

Numeric values of the forms

It is the sum of the different numerical values of the forms. It is necessary to set:

  • The headings of the forms to calculate.

For this, click the button on the workload setting and then select the headings to calculate.

Accumulate

If this box is checked, the workload does the accumulation of values.

Accumulation start date

It is the start date of the accumulation.

Display format

  • Integer: select 0 value.
  • Decimal: Select 0,00 value.
  • Integer percentage: select 0% value.
  • Decimal percentage: select 0,00% value.

Set the thresholds

Thresholds permit to specify the color for each level to reach.

By clicking on the right button, the following window opens :

vp5_pg_plan_de_charges_definition_des_seuils.jpg

It is necessary to precise:

  • a percentage for each thresholds wanted
  • a color when the threshold is reached
  • and another color when the threshold is exceeded.

One line by resource of the dimension

If this box is checked, it is possible to display the result of the workload by one result line by resource.

Events filter

This is the events filter associated to the Workload.

It is necessary to select a filter or create a new customized filter.

Only events that respect the filter will be taken into account in calculating the Workload.
