Print a view

DEFINITION

Print a view is the simplest way to print the data of a planner.

It is possible to make prints on paper, but also to produce documents in *.PDF format.

In addition it is possible to print a resource and to print an event.

SETTINGS

Printing a view works in a similar manner to the concept of WYSIWYG.

For optimal use, it is advisable to set and save settings for printing. In fact, all the print settings can be saved in a favorite display

Page Settings

Before creating a context of printing, it is necessary to define the default layout you want.

To do this, left click on the button below:

The following window appears where you can define the default page setting.

In this window, you specify the characteristics of the layout.

This definition of the page settings can be saved as a favorite display.

It should then click on OK to confirm.

Preview

You can watch a preview of the print through the button below:

The following windows appears:

You can change the print settings. (cf. Print settings)

Then, click on OK.

The preview window comes up:

By buttons on the top left, it is possible to:

  • Start printing
  • Zoom in
  • Zoom out
  • Exit

It is necessary to display the view to be printed, then click on the header of this view.

We must then click on the button vp5_boutton_paramaffichage.jpg which is located at the right side in the header of the view.

The following window appears where you must select the Printing tab.

Settings for printing

Then, to confirm, click on the OK button.

Depending on the type of view, the list of these parameters may be different:

Number of periods per page

It is the Number of periods per page which will be displayed.

Time by page

It is the period type that will be used (hour, day, week, month,…).

Restrict to events

When checked, the check box allows the limitation of the printing to only the period containing events. The period of time not containg events will not be printed.

E.g. if the period to be printed is one year, but the events cover only a part of the year, only that part will be printed.

Period

It is the period of data printing.

Adjusting

It permits to adjust the print to the page, the height, the width.

The height of rows is adjusted to the maximum height of the existing rows.

Only table mode allows adjustment. This concerns:

  • Event view, Table mode
  • Resource view, Table mode
  • Event report view, Table mode

It permits to define the page footer of the print:

The following buttons allow to define predefined informations:

  • : Page number
  • : Number of pages
  • : Date of printing
  • : Time of printing
  • : Name of the planner
  • : Name of the view
  • : Name of the user
  • : Name of the group

It is also possible to directly fill a specific text by entering directly into the desired zone

It permits to define the page header of the print:

It is also possible to directly fill a specific text by entering directly into the desired zone

Page break on heading

It permits to print row by row thanks to the resources heading sort.

Page setting

It permits to reach the Page setting.

Check this box allows to display the logo at the top left in the print result.

The logo is an image file that can be displayed in the print result.

This image is unique for all the planning.

Click on […] to browse the folders and select an image file.

USE

Launch a printout

Whatever the view, to start a printout, you must go to the menu Planner > Block Printing > Print

The following windows appears:

You can change the print settings if necessary. (cf. Print settings)

You must then click on OK.

The window for selecting the printer settings will appear:

It should then click on OK.

The print is then launched.

Create a PDF file

Whatever the view, to start generating a *.PDF file, you must go to the menu Planner > Block Printing > Print

The following window appears:

You can change the print settings if necessary, (cf. Print settings)

Then, click on OK.

Then simply select the directory where to save the *.PDF, with the following window

Finally, you should click Save

The creation of the *.PDF file is then launched.
