Manual Exports and Imports

This page describes how to launch an export or an import manually.

DEFINITION

With this feature, it is possible to manually execute predefined Import contexts.

A Manual import allows to launch manually an import of datas into VISUAL PLANNING:

  • Import ressources,
  • Imports events.

A Manual export allows to launch manually an export of datas from VISUAL PLANNING:

  • Export resources,
  • Export events.

This feature runs with:

  • a *.CSV file,
  • a *.XLS file,
  • or a database.

USE

Launch a context

To manually launch a pre-parametrized context, go to the Planner menu > Export block, and then:

  • Export events > Click on the arrow in the right > Choose the context
  • Or Import events > Click on the arrow in the right > Choose the context
  • Or Export resources > Click on the arrow in the right > Choose the context
  • Or Import resources > Click on the arrow in the right > Choose the context

Then, a window appears:

Click on OK to launch the import or export.

If needed, it is possible to modify the settings of the export in the tabs.

Export a selection

It is possible to import or export one or several resourecs or events according to a predefined context.

To do so:

  • Right-Click on a selection of events > Export events > Choose the context
  • Right-Click on a selection of events > Import events > Choose the context
  • Right-Click on a selection of resources > Export resources > Choose the context
  • Right-Click on a selection of resources > Import resources > Choose the context

Then ,the following window appears:

Click on OK to launch the export.

If need be, it is possible to modify the settings of the context in the existing tabs.

Only the selected resources or events that are included in the filter of the context are exported.

Export Report

When the export is done, the Export Report window appears to recapitulate what was done.

Correct export

If the export was correctly done, the following message appears:

Existing data

When the export file is a *.XLS or a *.CSV file, if the datas already exist in the file, the following message appears:

Then:

  • Click on Yes to overwrite the existing datas,
  • or click on No to modify the export settings.

Incorrect export

If the export settings were not correctly set, the following message appears:

The export will not be done until the settings are correct. Then, a window appears to notify this correct export. (cf. above)

Import Report

When the import is done, the Import report window appears to recapitulate the operation.

Correct import

If the import settings are correctly set, the following message appears:

No data source defined

If the data source is undefined or inaccessible, the following message appears:

No resource selected

If no resource is defined, the following message appears:

No match is defined

If any correspondence is defined, the following message appears:

No start date defined

If any start date is defined, the following message appears:
