Creating a daily calendar

To create a daily calendar, go to the General Settings panel > Right-click on Daily calendars > Create Daily Calendar.

The corresponding part is then enabled:

Specify the characteristics of the daily calendar, then confirm by clicking on the Validate button.

A Daily calendar has the following characteristics:

Name

Give this daily calendar a name.

Description

Give the daily calendar a description. The description is optional.

History

This indicates the creation date and time and the most recent change to the daily calendar, together with the login of the user who made the change.

This property is updated automatically.

Default daily template

To define the daily template that will be used by default in periods where no additional daily template has been specified.

Daily templates

These “additional” daily templates make it possible to modify the initial calendar so that it stops using the default template for a certain period.

They are defined in another window made up of a list of periods associated with a daily template, which are placed in order of priority.

To access it, just click on the right-hand button .

The following window opens:

You can now:

  • add an additional module using the Add button,
  • delete modules using the Delete button.

For each additional daily template, you must specify:

Start date

Define the start date for validity of the additional daily template (selected below).

End date

This columns represents the start date for validity of the additional daily template (selected below).

Daily template

Define the additional daily template that will replace the default daily template during the period defined above.

Specific days

Use this window to specify the calendar’s specific days and their period type.

You can automatically predefine a country’ specific days by clicking on the Add non worked days button.

You can move specific days to another period type (E.g.: Non-worked, Worked, etc.). To do so, simply select the specific days, then use Ctrl+C followed by Ctrl+V in the required period.

A specific day can only exist in one period type.

Deleting a daily calendar

To delete a daily calendar you must change the planner’s architecture template.

Warning

This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

You cannot delete the default daily calendar.

Deletion of a daily calendar is irreversible.

Daily calendars are deleted via the General Settings panel by selecting the daily calendar and then Right-clicking on the calendar > Delete.

Modifying a daily calendar

To modify a daily calendar you must change the planner’s architecture template.

Warning

This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

You can modify a calendar:

  • Either in the General Settings (see Creating a daily calendar),
  • or in a Schedule view by drag-dropping a calendar into a resource or period type on a resource at a given date.

However you can cancel modification of a calendar if VISUAL PLANNING is still open. The events are then put back in their initial positions.
