Creating a heading

In the General Settings pane:

  • Right-click on a dimension > Create Heading > Choice of type,

  • Right-click on a form > Create Heading > Choice of type,

The corresponding part then opens:

Specify the characteristics of the heading, then confirm by clicking on the Validate button.

A Unique Choice List heading has the following characteristics:

Name

Give this heading a name.

Description

Give the heading a description. The description is optional.

Indexing

Check this box to index the heading in the database. This enables you to accelerate searches, filters, imports when this heading is used as a criterion in searches, filters or imports.

Indexing of the headings makes it possible to improve performance on very specific cases.

We strongly advise you to contact STILOG I.S.T. technical support if these types of needs are identified.

Default value

A default heading value can be used to create a new resource (in the case of a resource heading) or an event (in the case of the form heading).

Forbid default value

Check the Forbid default value box to force the user to enter data in the field and not leave the default value.

AutoFilter

Check this box to define the heading as being subject to automatic filtering.

Value list

When you open the list of values, the following window opens:

Add an element to the list

To add an element to the list, click on Enter a value and enter a character string.

Modify an element in the list

To modify the value of an element in the list, click on this element and modify the existing character string.

Warning

This modification affects all the resources or events that possess this value.

Delete an element in the list

To delete an element from the choice list, select it by clicking on it, and then click on the Delete button.

Warning

This deletion does not affect resources or events that possess this value.

Sort the elements in the list
  • To automatically put the values of the list in alphabetical order, simply click on the Sort button.

  • You can also sort the list elements manually using the blue arrows:

The sorting order configured in this list is also used to sort a view according to this heading.

Refresh according to existing values

This functionality is particularly useful when converting a text heading into a unique choice list.

Click on the Refresh button to update the choice list values with the values taken for this heading in the existing resources.

Paste elements from the clipboard

After copying into an external application, it is possible to paste this set of character strings by clicking on the Paste button, or by pressing Ctrl + V. The values are added as new elements of the list.

Example: Clipboard, OPENOFFICE, MICROSOFT WORD, MICROSOFT EXCEL

Modifying a heading

To modify a heading you must change the planner’s architecture template.

Warning

This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

To modify a heading, select the heading in the General Settings pane. The corresponding part of the window is then enabled.

Now modify the characteristics (see Creating a Unique Choice List heading), then click on the Validate button.

If you do not want the modification to take effect, click on the Redo button.

Note

For the Unique Choice List type, you can modify the values in a list without being alone on the planner.

Deleting a heading.

To delete a heading you must change the planner’s architecture template.

Warning

This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

Deletion of a heading is definitive.
