ADMIN CENTER: GENERAL SETTINGS
To access General Settings menu click on the button .
The General Settings entry allows you to define the values of a set of parameters:
This field is used to change the name of the Client button in the VISUAL PLANNING portal.
Use this field to personalize the home page by means of an editor. You can use html code if you wish.
Disable this button to hide the display of the Visual Planning icon in the home page.
Disable this button to hide the display of the Admin Center icon in the home page.
Show icon ‘VPGo’
Disable this button to hide the display of the VPGo icon on the home page.
Show icon ‘VPPortal’
Disable this button to hide the display of the VPPortal icon on the home page.
This field enables you to choose the color in which the home page is displayed.
This field is used to select the background image displayed when you open Admin Center.
There are two possibilities:
- Auto: the home page background images change randomly each time you log into the Admin Center
Custom: select an image that will be used as the background image each time you log into the Admin Center. By selecting this option, the following window is displayed in which you can choose the background image:
Use this characteristic to specify the refresh time limit of client workstations in minutes.
If the value is -1, the time limit is specified for each workstation.
By enabling this button, VISUAL PLANNING will create shortcuts to the application on users’ desktops the first time the application is launched.
Enable this button to enable verbose log mode on each user’s client workstations.
This characteristic specifies the session locking time limit if the user performs no action.
If the value is -1, no locking time limit is specified. Application will not be locked.
If a time limit is chosen, the screen will display a window to log in once more. You must then type in the password again.
Use this field to select the server language. If no language is selected, VISUAL PLANNING automatically uses the installation server’s language.
By enabling this button, multi-language management of entities is possible and it will be possible to define a value per language for each entity concerned.
This option is enabled for an entire VISUAL PLANNING installation and requires a restart of the application in order to take effect.
This option will be taken into account in the rich client. The button will be visible next to each entity that can be internationalized.
Each time the server language is changed, the value entered in the chosen language will appear in the rich client for the entities concerned.
By default, the language taken into account will be English or the language of the server if no value has been entered for the other languages.
The entities of VISUAL PLANNING concerned by the internationalization are the following :
- Hourly and Daily Templates
- Events hierarchy
- Valuation item
- Creation rule
- Period types
- Events filter and resources filter
- Favorite display
- Workload plan
This multi-language management cannot be activated for certain entities such as email contexts, time periods or input editors.
For VPPortal and VPGo, the values displayed will be in the server language.
Enable this button to deny users access to the logs page.
Enable this button to deny users access to the license activation page.
Enable this button to enable the server’s verbose log.
Database verbose log
Enable this button to enable the the reading performance logs in the database.
It displays the execution times of SQL queries in the log file.
Use this characteristic to specify the server logs deletion time limit in days.
- If the value is -1, no server log will be deleted;
- If the value is 30, only server logs from the last 30 days will be kept;
- If the value is 60, only server logs from the last 60 days will be kept.
In the window displayed, click on Yes to generate.
The key is then generated and can be used.
By default the user can choose the planner they want to log into from the list of existing planners.
Use the “Force schedule” field to force users to log into a single planner in VPPORTAL mode.
Use this field to personalize the VPPORTAL home page header by means of an editor. You can use html code if you wish.
Use this field to change the skin of the VPPORTAL home page. You can choose from among the themes shown in the list.
If the selected skin is “Custom-simple”, you will be able to choose a main color and a selection color below.
If the selected skin is “Custom-extern”, you will be able to customize the skin via a URL provided by VISUAL PLANNING to perform the changes.
“Custom-extern” lets you customize the VPPortal skin from a compatible CSS saved beforehand.
Modifying the CSS
To modify the CSS, you must use the Kendo UI ThemeBuilder module. To do so, go to the following page: https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/themebuilder/.
Predefined themes are available here. You can also customize the theme.
Once you have your final theme, click on the button to download and save it. A .zip file will then be generated. You must extract the files from this .zip.
