DASHBOARD: CONFIGURATION

 

Creating indicators

 

To add a new indicator, right-click on the dashboard and select Add. Choose the indicator to be added.

You can display several same-type indicators in the dashboard.

 

Weather

This indicator shows the weather in a given town or city in the dashboard.

Choose the size of the widget to be added.

To configure the weather, enter the:

 

  • City: the name of the appropriate town or city,
  • Background color: the background color of the widget.

When the cursor is positioned on the city, it shows 4 consecutive days.

HTML text

This indicator is used to display free text formatted in the dashboard.

Choose the size of the widget to be added.

To configure the text, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Background color: the background color of the widget,
  • HTML content: the text to display by configuring the editor displayed.

Note

URLs are sensitive in VPDeskLauncher and VPPortal.

You can be redirected straight to the desired pages by clicking on links from the Dashboard.

Favorite Display

This indicator displays a shortcut to an existing favorite display in the dashboard.

Choose the size of the widget to be added.

To configure the shortcut to the favorite display, enter the:

  • Icon: the icon to be associated with this favorite display,
  • Background color: the background color of the widget,
  • Favorite display: the favorite display to be started.

Resources total

This indicator is used to display the total of a numeric value in a resource list.

Choose the size of the widget to be added.

To configure the resource total, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Background color: the background color of the widget,
  • Format: the format of the total displayed,
  • Filter: the filter of the resources to be applied to establish the total,
  • Computed heading: the numeric value to be totaled,
  • Compute type: the type of calculation. This can be the sum of the resources or the average per resource.

    • For a sum, it will total all the values of all the resources,
    • For an average, the total will be divided by the number of resources to obtain the mean.

Workload total

This indicator is used to display the result of a workload in the dashboard. The result displayed will be the value of the workload, totaled for the selected time period.

To configure the workload total, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Background color: the background color of the widget,
  • Format: the format of the total displayed,
  • Workload: the appropriate workload,
  • Compute period: the period on which the sum will be established.

Workload

This indicator is used to display a workload in the dashboard.

To configure the workload, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Line color: the color of the value row,
  • Workload: the appropriate workload,
  • Compute period: the workload display period,
  • Step: the step in the workload for the period chosen below.

Multi-workload

This indicator is used to display a workload in the dashboard. The particularity of this widget is that the workload will be dispatched by resource.

To configure the workload, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Line color: the color of the value row,
  • Workload: the appropriate workload,
  • Compute period: the workload display period,
  • Step: the step in the workload for the period chosen below.

Events Report

This indicator is used to display an events report in the dashboard.

To configure the events report, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Event report: the events report to be displayed,
  • Display mode: the events report display mode,
  • Colors: enables you to choose the colours of the lines according to what they represent.

Events List

This indicator is used to display a list of events, in accordance with a given filter and period, in the dashboard.

Choose the size of the widget to be added.

To configure the events list, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Filter: the events filter to be applied,
  • Number of items: the number of events to be displayed. ‘-1’ means ‘display all the events that comply with the filter and the calculation period,
  • Inverted sort: the default sort order is based on the first attribute selected in the HTML content. If this option is enabled, the sort will be established in reverse order.
  • Compute period: the event display period,
  • HTML: the text to display by configuring the editor displayed.
  • Events hierarchy: enables you to establish an events hierarchy. This hierarchy will enable you to create an event directly from the dashboard by clicking on the button.

Note

Depending on user permissions, it may be possible to edit an event directly from the list of events on the dashboard.

To do this, you must double-click on the event; the associated event editor will appear and allow you to edit it.

Resources list

This indicator shows the resources list of the chosen dimension in the dashboard.

Choose the size of the widget to be added.

To configure the resources list, enter the:

 

  • Title: the title of the widget,
  • Dimension: the dimension that shows the resources to be displayed,
  • Filter: the resource filter to be applied,
  • Number of items: the number of events to be displayed. “-1” means “display all the events that comply with the filter ,
  • Inverted sort: the default sort order is based on the first attribute selected in the HTML content. If this option is enabled, the sort will be established in reverse order.
  • HTML: the text to display by configuring the editor displayed.

Note

Depending on user permissions, it may be possible to create a new resource by clicking on the button add button.

Double-click on the resource to edit it; the associated resource editor will appear and allow you to edit it.

Modifying indicators

To modify an indicator’s settings, right-click on it > Setting.

The settings to be modified are the same as when creating indicators.

 

Removing indicators

To remove a dashboard indicator, right-click on it > Remove.

The indicator will be removed from the display.

 

Creating groups

It is possible to create dashboard groups in the VPDeskLauncher.

To create a group, right-click on the dashboard > Add a new group

The following window appears and allows you to name the newly created group :

The creation of a group triggers the creation of a new dashboard and the indicators are to be created.

Note

You can duplicate a dashboard (group of widgets) and give a group access to it.

To do this, you must right-click on the dashboard to duplicate > Duplicate this group.

 

Group setting

The admin can choose which group is allowed to see a specific dashboard.

To do so, right-click on the dashboard > Group setting

The following window appears :

Select the group(s) with the right to view the dashboard from the column of available entities and put them in the column of selected entities using the arrows vp7_fr_bouton_fleches_horizontales

Caution

A group can only see one dashboard.

If a group is selected to see the first dashboard and then is also selected to see the second one, it will be automatically removed from the first one.

Delete a group

To delete a dashboard, right-click on the dashborad to be deleted > Delete this group.

The following pop-up message appears :

Click on Yes to confim the deletion or No to cancel the action.

Modifying widgets

Depending on the group configured, you can change the placement of widgets on the dashboard.

To change the position, you must right-click on the dashboard > Group setting > Automatic layout

There are two possible options:

  • Button enabled: widgets will be positioned automatically one after another,
  • Button disabled: widgets can be positioned freely.

Depending on the group configured, you can also change the color of the dashboard background.

To do this, right-click on the dashboard > Group setting > Color.

To display the background image of the planner, click on the bouton croix button.
