A workload is used to total, period by period, for a selected set of resources and criteria, certain numerical values of the events scheduled on these resources.
Within a workload, a comparison can be made of:
- the load that represents the quantity of work to be undertaken. It may be:
- the objective that represents the availability or capacity of the resources used for this work. It may be:
- a number of scheduled events,
- their duration,
- their load,
- their valuation,
- or numerical values taken from their forms.
The ratio between the load and the capacity for a workload may be associated with specific colours depending on the values for a particular period.
This notion may be considered as being similar to that of a threshold for control totals.
