Workload

A workload is used to total, period by period, for a selected set of resources and criteria, certain numerical values of the events scheduled on these resources.

Within a workload, a comparison can be made of:

  • the load that represents the quantity of work to be undertaken. It may be:
    • a number of scheduled events,
    • their duration,
    • their load,
    • their valuation,
    • numerical values taken from their forms,
    • or a formula combining numerical data.
  • the objective that represents the availability or capacity of the resources used for this work. It may be:
    • a number of scheduled events,
    • their duration,
    • their load,
    • their valuation,
    • or numerical values taken from their forms.

The ratio between the load and the capacity for a workload may be associated with specific colours depending on the values for a particular period.

This notion may be considered as being similar to that of a threshold for control totals.
