Workload: configuration

Creating a new Workload

To create a workload, go to Settings > Click on Workloads.

Click on the add button button > Choose the dimension wanted.

The following window is then enabled:

workload creation

Specify the characteristics of the workload, then confirm by clicking OK .

The characteristics of a workload are as follows:

Name

Give the workload a name.

If multilingual management is activated in the Admin center, you can enter a workload name in the languages available by clicking on the v7_adm_en_parametres_generaux_symbole_multilangue button.

Note

Workload name in French Capacité
Workload name in English Capacity
What is visible on a FR client workstation Capacité
What is visible on an EN client workstation Capacity

Description

Give the workload a description. This data is optional.

This description appears in a tooltip when the user mouses over the workload title.

History

This is the creation date and time and the most recent change to the workload, together with the login of the users who performed these actions.

This property is updated automatically.

Calculation type

The Calculation type used, for all filtered resources, on all events covered by a filter, is chosen from the following:

Number of events

The calculation will be performed based on the value 1 for each event.

Duration of events (h)

This is a conversion, in hours, of the durations of all the events on which the calculation is performed.

In this case, you must specify the type of period for the calculation.

Duration of events (d)

This is a conversion, into in days, of the durations of all events on which the calculation is performed.

In this case, you must specify the type of period for the calculation.

Occupation duration (h)

The period during which the resource is occupied, in hours.

This duration is calculated using the coverage, or not, of the free periods, and may not exceed the total of these periods.

Occupation duration (d)

The period during which the resource is occupied, in days.

This duration is calculated using the coverage, or not, of the free periods, and may not exceed the total of these periods.

Free period duration (h)

A conversion, in hours, of the duration of the free periods.

You must define the type of period for the calculation.

If the type of period chosen has the value All, the calculation is only performed on the periods actually worked.

Free period duration (d)

A conversion, in days, of the duration of the free periods.

You must define the type of period for the calculation.

If the period type chosen has the value All, the calculation is only performed on the periods actually worked.

Worlkload in hours

The sum of the workloads, in hours, for events included in the events filter.

Workload in days

The sum of the workloads, in days, for events included in the events filter.

Free load (h)

The calendar duration, in hours, minus the workload of the events concerned.

Free load (d)

The calendar duration, in days, minus the workload of the events concerned.

Valuations

This is the sum of the valuations of all the selected valuation items. When choosing this type of calculation, the following information must be defined:

  • the valuation items to be taken into account,
  • the unit of calculation.

Form values

This is the sum of the values of the numerical headings of the selected forms.

To get these figures, select the form headings by clicking on the button.

A window opens. Select the form headings to be totaled by ticking the appropriate lines, then click OK.

Formula

The formula in the workloads serves to perform operations between the different workloads in the schedule. The objective of a formula is result of the operation of the workload objectives used in the operation.

Calculation period type

Used to define the period in which an event is taken into account for the calculation in the workloads:

    • Period start: only at the event start period,
    • Period end: only at the event end period,
    • In each period: the calculation is performed for each period covered by the event,
    • Proportionate to the periods covered.

Cumulative values

If this button is enabled, the workload will provide cumulative values.

Accumulation start date

Set the start date for cumulative values.

Display format

  • Integers: Select the value 0.
  • Decimals: Select the value 0.00.
  • Integer percentage: Select the value 0%.
  • Decimal percentage: Select the value 0.00%.

Setting thresholds

The thresholds allow you to specify a colour for each level to be reached for the workload.

Right-click to display the following window:

workload thresholds

You must then specify:

  • a percentage for each specified threshold,
  • a color, when the threshold value is reached,
  • another colour when the threshold value is exceeded.

One line per resource in a dimension

If this button is enabled, the workload plan will be displayed with a single results line per resource.

workload one line per resource

Events filter

This is an events filter linked to the workload.

You must thus select an existing filter or create a customized events filter.

Only events covered by the filter will be taken into account by the workload calculation.

Resource filter

This is a resource filter linked to the workload.

You must thus select a resource filter for the dimension linked to the workload.

Here too, you can create a custom filter.

Only resources covered by the filter will be taken into account by the workload calculation.

Objective – Definition

Right-click to define a workload objective to be reached.

Automatic calculation: button enabled

The calculation of the workload is automatic.

workload automatic calculation
Value

The calculation may be based on:

  • number of events,
  • events duration (in Hours),
  • events duration (in Days),
  • occupational duration (in Hours),
  • occupational duration (in Days),
  • duration of free periods (in Hours),
  • duration of free periods (in Days),
  • the load, in hours,
  • the load, in days,
  • free load (in Hours),
  • free load, (in Days),
  • valuations,
  • form values.
Events filter

This is an events filter linked to the workload objective.

You must thus select an existing filter or create a customized events filter.

Only events that satisfy the filter will be taken into account by the workload objective calculation.

Resource filter

This involves a resource filter, linked to the workload objective.

You must thus select a resource filter for the dimension linked to the workload.

Here too, you can create a custom filter.

Only resources that satisfy this filter will be taken into account by the workload objective calculation.

Automatic calculation: button disabled

The load is calculated in relation to a fixed objective.

workload calculation

Used to enter the fixed load objective.

Accumulation

You can calculate an accumulation of the values. The accumulation can be:

  • None: no accumulation is calculated for the values.
  • Starting from: the accumulation is calculated starting from a date.
  • For X periods: the accumulation is calculated for the selected number of periods, including the current period, and according to the schedule’s time scale.

Accumulation start date

When the accumulation type selected is “Starting from”, this field is enabled and can be used to define the accumulation start date.

Number of periods

When the accumulation type selected is “Over X periods”, this field is enabled and can be used to define the number of periods, according to the schedule’s time scale, on which to establish the accumulation.

Calculation mode

You can choose the calculation mode for the “Over X periods” accumulation type:

  • Sum: each value in the workload will calculate the sum of the values over the X periods defined.
  • Average: each value in the workload will calculate the average of the values over the X periods defined.
workload calculation mode

For example :

The same workload plan has been duplicated to display respectively: the value without any cumulation, a cumulation with the sum of the values over 2 periods, a cumulation with the average of the values over 2 periods.

    • The schedule scale is daily
    • The number of cumulation periods is equal to 2
    • The calculation for each day is therefore done on D-1 and D.

Workload Workload – Sum Workload – Average
October 26, 2020 0 0+0 =0 (0+0)/2 = 0
October 27, 2020 8 0+8 = 8 (0+8)/2 = 4
October 28, 2020 16 8+16 = 24

(8+16)/2 = 12

October 29, 2020 24 16+25 = 40 (16+24)/2 = 20
October 30, 2020 8 24+8 = 32 (24+8)/2 = 16

Modifying a workload

To modify a workload, simply go back to the Settings and modify the workload as required. (See Creation).

In the window displayed, click on the characteristics to be modified.

  • Click OK to validate your changes,
  • or Restore to ignore the changes and go back to the initial configuration.

Deleting a workload

To delete a workload, right-click on the workload > Delete.

workload delete

In the window displayed, click on:

  • Yes to confirm the deletion,

  • or No to cancel the deletion.
