GeoLocation heading: configuration

Creating a heading

Caution

In the case of the Geolocation heading in a form, the GPS coordinates must be entered manually. The automatic calculation can only be performed by doing a check-in on VPGO.

In the Settings menu > Right-click on a dimension > Create Heading > Choose the type.

Specify the characteristics of the heading, then confirm by clicking on the OK button.

A Geolocation heading has the following characteristics:

 

Name

Give this heading a name.

If the multi-language management is activated in the Admin center, it will be possible to fill in a name for this heading in the proposed languages by clicking on the v7_adm_en_parametres_generaux_symbole_multilangue button.

Description

Give the heading a description. This data is optional.

 

Automatic localization

  • If this button is enabled, you must create headings that serve to define the location of the resource. These headings will be selected in the Localization Headings field. The automatic localization calculation can only be performed in a dimension heading.
  • If the button is not enabled:
    • you must directly enter the GPS coordinates of the resource in the Geolocation dimension heading;
    • or on VPGO, it will be possible to calculate its localization, whether for a dimension heading or form heading.

Localization headings

Note

This field is only present in a dimension heading.

Localization headings enable you to select previously created headings which are used to define the position of the Geolocation.

The following types of headings can be used:

  • Text,
  • Barcode,
  • Concatenation of text,
  • Counter,
  • Multi-line text,
  • Single choice list.

Example of headings that can be used (all in the “text” format):

  • Number,
  • Name of street/avenue/boulevard,
  • ZIP Code,
  • City,
  • Country.

To select the headings, click on the bouton-crayon button in the Localization headings field.

The following window appears:

Now select the localization headings in “Available entities” and transfer them to “Selected entities”.

 

Check-in only

This field is enabled when the automatic localization button is disabled.

Enable the button to save the position at which the device was clicked in VPGO.

 

Current position

This field is enabled when the automatic localization button is disabled.

Enable the button to save the position at which the resource was created in VPGO.

Modifying a heading

 

To modify a heading you must change the schedule’s architecture template.

Warning

This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

To modify a heading, select the heading in the Global Settings pane. The corresponding part of the window is then enabled.

Modify the characteristics (see Creating a Geolocation heading), then click on the OK button.

If you do not want the modification to take effect, you must click on the Restore button.

Note

For the Geolocation type, you can modify the localization heading values without being the only one logged in on the schedule.

Deleting a heading

 

To delete a heading you must change the schedule’s architecture template.

Warning

This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

Deletion of a heading is definitive.
