Text type heading

This is a dimension or form type of heading.

The Text type is a line of text enabling you to write any text that you want.

If appropriate, it can take a default value.



Creating a heading

In the Settings menu:

  • Click on Dimensions > Right-click on a dimension > Create Heading > Choose the type,

  • Click on Forms > Right-click on a form > Create Heading > Choose the type.


The corresponding part then opens:


Specify the characteristics of the heading, then confirm by clicking on the OK button.

A Text heading has the following characteristics:


Give this heading a name.

If the multi-language management is activated in the Admin center, it will be possible to fill in a name for this dimension in the proposed languages by clicking on the v7_adm_en_parametres_generaux_symbole_multilangue button.


Name of the heading in french Nom
Name of the heading in english Name
What is seen in a FR desktop Nom
What is seen in a EN desktop Name


Give the heading a description. This data is optional.



Enable this button to index the heading in the database. This serves to accelerate searches, filters, imports when this heading is used as a criterion in searches, filters or imports.

Indexing the headings makes it possible to improve performance on very specific cases.


We strongly advise you to contact STILOG I.S.T. technical support if these types of needs are identified.

Default value

A default heading value can be used to create a new resource (in the case of a resource heading) or an event (in the case of the form heading).


Global user variables can be used to define this default value:





Forbid default value

Select the Forbid default value button to force the user to enter data in the field and not leave the default value.


Number of characters

The maximum number of characters for a Text heading is 255.


This setting cannot be modified if several users are logged in.


A format enables you to check the value is coherent when it is entered.

The predefined formats are:

  • ZIP Code,
  • 10-digit telephone
  • E-mail,
  • Begins with uppercase
  • Uppercase

These formats comply with the REGEX standard.

It is possible to create other formats by modifying the REGEX formula directly in the text zone.

Enable this button to automatically complete the keyboard input when creating, modifying or searching.



This field allows a default text to be entered in the text field. This value is deleted as soon as the user starts writing in the field.

Modifying a heading

To modify a heading you must change the schedule’s architecture template.


This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

To modify a heading, select the heading in the Settings menu. The corresponding part of the window is then enabled.

Modify the characteristics (see Creating a Text heading), then click on the OK button.

If you do not want the modification to take effect, you must click on the Restore button.


Deleting a heading

To delete a heading you must change the schedule’s architecture template.


This is an important configuration task and should not be performed without careful consideration.

Deletion of a heading is definitive.





This type of heading is viewed like all the headings.

If the “Placeholder” field has been filled in, it will be displayed as follows:


Verification of the format

When creating or modifying a resource or event, the Text headings are verified. Only values that comply with the defined format will be validated.


Directly modifying values

In a Table view, you can directly modify the value of a heading by clicking once in the heading and then again to unlock it.
