Consulting a schedule
The Schedule shows you all the events in a Schedule View.
Information about the events is displayed on the time bar.
More detailed information is displayed in the tooltip. The event’s start and end dates are also displayed by default in the tooltip.
The type of information displayed is determined by the configuration.
Several options are possible in a Schedule.
The Schedule template can be organized:
- by month,
- a week,
- by worked week,
- by day.
These different time periods are displayed if they have been selected in the configuration.
Browsing the calendar
You can browse the calendar using the arrows by clicking on the date.
If resource filters were selected in the “Dimension filter” field during configuration, they will appear in a pull-down list enabling you to filter the resources displayed in the schedule.
The pull-down list of resources is accessible by clicking on the button, or directly in the header of the resources pane.
If events filters have been selected in the “Events filter” field during configuration, they will appear in a pull-down list enabling you to filter the events displayed in the schedule.
To do so, click on the button.
Organizing the headings of the resources
The headings of the resources displayed can be sorted, grouped and filtered in the table.
To sort, simply click on the header of the appropriate column.
The events displayed can be filtered by carrying out a search.
To do so, click on the button or directly in the schedule header.
- Filter the displayed events,
- Filter on the properties and headings displayed;
- Condition: Contains.
Headings and properties that are not visible in the schedule are not taken into account to verify the filter condition.
View by month
This view shows the schedule for a full month. Special days are shown in the color of the defined period type.
View by week
This view displays the schedule for all the days of a week.
View by worked week
This view displays the schedule for all the worked days of a week.
View by day
This view shows the schedule per day. Special days are shown in the colour of the defined period type.
If workloads were selected in the configuration, they will be displayed at the bottom of the page.
Child events display
If child events are present, they will be displayed as VPDesk child events.
Parent and child events are nested in the schedule.
Resetting the display of a context
If the current display has been activated, you can reset the display to how it was set up in the configuration.
To do so, click on the button. In the window displayed, click on the button.
Print the schedule
To print the schedule, click on the button . In the menu displayed, click the following button: .
A new preview window is displayed to confirm the printout.
Creating an event
You can only create an event if at least one hierarchy was selected in the configuration.
To create an event:
- Click on the button;
- or Select the start and end date of the event to be created on the schedule,
- or Drag and drop a resource of a sub-context on the schedule.
If several creation hierarchies are possible, choose one of them in the following window:
The resources for the selected hierarchy’s mandatory dimensions must be chosen in the following screen:

Click on Cancel to cancel the creation of the event.
Click OK to continue creating the event and enter the event’s properties in the next screen.
- Choice of the event’s headings and attributes which will be displayed when editing the event.
Click on Cancel to cancel the creation of the event.
Click OK to create the event.
Managing an event
Clicking on an event brings up a pop-up menu. Select the appropriate action from among the proposed options (if you have the required permissions).
Click on to edit the event. The appropriate editing window is displayed. (See Input editors).
The data displayed for an event can be edited if you have the required permissions.
For a given dimension, resources can be modified if the Dimension entity is displayed in the event.
Click on to subdivide the event.
- If the event cannot be sub-divided, the button is greyed.
If the event can be sub-divided, the following window is displayed:
Click Confirm or Cancel to confirm or cancel the subdivision of the event.
- Click on to duplicate the event if the option has been enabled (see Authorize duplication). The event editing window is displayed.
- Click on to repeat the event if the option has been enabled (see Authorize repetition). The horizontal repeat editing window appears:
- Click on to assign a resource to the event. The various resource assignment contexts created beforehand are proposed:
The corresponding assignment window will be displayed. Choose the appropriate resource and click OK.
Click on to delete the event. The following window is displayed:
Click on Confirm to confirm the deletion, or Cancel to cancel the deletion,
Editing a resource
To create a new resource, click on the button. This displays the resource editing window (see Input editors). If no input or creation editor has been selected, you will be unable to create a new resource.
Click on to edit the resource. The appropriate editing window is displayed. The headings displayed can be edited if you have the required permissions. (See Input editors).
- Click on to duplicate the resource. The appropriate editing window is displayed (see Input editors). The headings displayed can be edited if you have the required permissions.
- Click OK to duplicate the resource.
- Click on to delete a resource if you have the required permissions. The following window is displayed:
