Events Report

DEFINITION

An Events report makes up the main analysis table for the planned data.

His very thorough setting allow you to detail all the existing information in the planner, according to the criteria which interest you at any given time.

As for filters, several different settings can be saved and recalled.

The result appears in a dedicated view (C.f Events report view). Events report can be easily exported into Excel™ or text format.

SETTINGS

Create an Events Report

To create an event reports,go:

  • Either the menu General Settings > Events Report > Right click on the dimension > Create Events report > Choose the dimension .

  • Either the menu Other> Events Report> Right click on the dimension> Create Events report> Choose the dimension .

The following window opens :

It is then necessary to define the following characteristics, then click the OK button to save the Event reports.

These characteristics are:

Name

The field Name is mandatory. It helps to name the Events report whose been created.

Description

The field Description is optional. It can give a description to Event reports.

Hide empty columns

The checkbox hide empty columns, if unchecked, allows not to display columns without event.

Hide empty rows

The checkbox hide empty rows, if unchecked, allows not to display rows without event.

Grouping

The choice list Grouping allows to group Data to analyse as a criterion that can be:

  • a time period to choose from a list (the same as time scale).

  • the dimensions of the selected headings below.

Display in

The choice list display in allows to display The calculated results :

  • either value
  • either a percentage of total
  • either a percentage of the column
  • either a percentage of the row

One event per row

The checkbox An event per row, if it is cchecked allows to repeat a row as many times as there are events.

Sub-totals

The numeric field Sub-totals selects the number of subtotals shown, according to the criteria of analysis and grouping.

Example : the value 1 means that only the global total for Data to analyse will be displayed.

Data to analyse

Values Data to analyze are the list of headings for analysis. It is necessary to select at least one.

Numerical values to compute

Values Numerical values to compute have to be chosen from the list of existing numerical headings, those which will be calculated by the Events report.

By clicking the right button, the following window opens:

It is then necessary to specify.

  • Name:the name of the data to compute,
  • Calculation Type : it can be :
    • Number of events
    • Duration of events (h)
    • Duration of events (d)
    • Achieve duration (h)
    • Achieve duration (d)
    • Occupation duration (h)
    • Occupation duration (d)
    • Free period duration (h) : only with One event per row
    • Free period duration (j) : only with One event per row
    • Load in hours (h)
    • Load in days (d)
    • Free load (h)
    • Free load (d)
    • Form values
    • Resource values
  • Display format : possibility to choose the display format of the numerical value
  • Event filter : possibility to choose the current filter or a customized filter
  • Time period : A time period must be selected. The possibilites are:
    • Today
    • This month
    • This semester
    • This quarter
    • This year
    • This fortnight
    • This week
    • Tomorrow
    • Yesterday
    • Previous year
    • Next week
    • Previous week
    • Next month
    • Previous month
    • All the planner
    • Customized
    • Current filter

Example : This month means from the first day of the current month to the last day of the current month.

Filter

The list Filter: 'Name of the chosen dimension ' allows to apply a resource filters among those chosen for the Event report's dimension.

It is also possible to select the current filter or a customized resources filter.

Duplicate an Events report

It is also possible to Duplicate an Events report still created.

  • In the Global Settings menu, Right click on the Events report to duplicate> Duplicate> Rename the new one

  • In block Other, Click on the Events report to duplicate> Duplicate> Rename the new one.

Modify an Events Report

To edit an existing Events report it is necessary to:

  • go into the Global Settings menu > Event Reports > Choose the dimension supporting the Events Report > Click on the Events report to change.

In the window that appears below, click on fields for change.

  • go into the block Other> Events report .

In the window that appears, click Dimension> Click on the Events report > Click on fields for change.

  • To save changes, click OK
  • To cancel changes, click Redo

Delete an Events report

To delete an existing event report:

  • Skip to Global Settings > Events report > Choose the dimension that has the Events report > Right click on the Events report to delete > Delete.

  • Go to the block Other> Event reports> Delete

A warning message appears:

It is then necessary to click Yes to confirm deletion or No to cancel.

Display an event reports

Events reports view

An Events report is visualized in a dedicated view.

Display type

An Events report can be viewed as:

  • a table
  • a histogram (2D, 3D)
  • a pie chart (2D, 3D)

Use the current filters

Current filter for the Resources

On the settings of the Events Report, in the part Filter, it is possible to select Current filter. This option allows the user to launch the Resources filter when the events report is launched. In the same way you it allows you to use autofilters of the dimension.

To launch the filter of resources, right click on the heading of the events report view, then select the filter of resources.

Current filter for the events

On the settings of the Events Report, it is necessary to set Data to calculate. In the part Filter it is possible to select Current filter. This option allows the user to launch the Events Filter when the events report is launched.

To launch the filter of events, right click on the heading of the events report view, then select the filter of events. This one could be launched also in the menu bar on the top.

Favorite Display

It is possible to save a favorite display that takes a particular view of an Events report.

Export an Events Report

The most common way to use data from an events report in an external tool is to export an events report in a *.XLS or *.CSV.

Copy paste to a text editor

From an events report view, it is possible to copy and paste into a text editor.

To do this, you must click on the report and then do a Ctrl + C

then in a text editor do a Ctrl + V

It works with different text editor and with all display modes (table, histogram …)

In the case of the table, this feature does not copy and paste the line header of the report, only values​​.
