Sending an email after writing it

DEFINITION

VISUAL PLANNING allows to send mails from a resource of the planner.

The message addressee can be defined into a heading or directly entered when writing the email.

The email object and the text message are written and additional documents can be included in the email.

PREREQUISITES

Technical prerequisites

Messaging software must be installed on the client that will send the email.

This functionality is validated for:

  • MICROSOFT OUTLOOK OFFICE 2007 and 2010

Functional prerequisites

There is no functional prerequisite to use this functionality.

However, for a proper use, it is useful to create for each dimension using the emails :

According to the heading type, the date, the hour and the login of the last email of each resource will be stored.

SETTINGS

This functionality does not need any settings.

USE

To use this functionality, Right click on a resource > Send > an email.

If one or more headings that contain email adresses exist, they will be directly used as the addressees of the email.

The rest of the definition of the email and its effective delivery depends entirely on the messaging software.

The messaging window opens to:

  • modify the different fields of the email (object, etc.),
  • Validate and send the email.

Example:

SMTP Server

In ENTERPRISE version, if the SMTP server is configured, when sending mail from a ressouve, a mailer from VISUAL PLANNING opens automatically instead of the mailer software installed on the computer.

The sender e-mail address is that of the user, defined in the ADMIN CENTER.
